This article is about a study made at Emory University in the United States, which shows that in many cases of divorce the fact of receiving an engagement ring worth between \u00a31,200 and \u00a32,000 is common. Which means that the owners of a ring of that value are 1.3 times more likely to get divorced.<\/p>\n
The author of the article also suggests a possible reason to explain why the divorces took place. It may be because the women who were proposed \u00a0paid more attention to the ring than to the men who gave it to them.<\/p>\n
I linked this article with the notion \u201cSpaces and Exchanges\u201d, firstly because the statistics used in it were made in the United States but the results that were published were in pounds sterling and not American dollars, and because I believe that the objective of a proposal is to get engaged with a person you truly love and who truly loves you back. However, in many of those cases of divorce the couples didn\u2019t exchange their feelings and love , which may be the reason that led them to that final decision.<\/p>\n
